Anxiety
Generalized anxiety, panic, phobias, and the low-grade bracing that never quite switches off. Treatment draws on cognitive behavioral and mindfulness-based work, with medication when it will genuinely help.
Board-certified psychiatry · NJ & NY
Dr. Khadija Ibeh does both in the same session, so you are not managing two providers who never speak to each other. All care is online, anywhere in New Jersey or New York.

The difference
Psychiatric care is usually split in two. A psychiatrist manages the medication in a short appointment. A therapist, somewhere else entirely, handles everything medication cannot reach. The two rarely speak. You tell your history twice and hold the pieces together yourself.
Dr. Ibeh does both. The person adjusting your prescription is the same person who knows how last week actually went, what set off the panic, what you have not said out loud yet. That changes what she can see, and how quickly the plan can change when something is not working.
“I believe in the combination of psychotherapy and medication for a rapid return of functioning.”

What she treats
Adults and couples, across a range of conditions. These are the areas she works in most.
Generalized anxiety, panic, phobias, and the low-grade bracing that never quite switches off. Treatment draws on cognitive behavioral and mindfulness-based work, with medication when it will genuinely help.
Major depression, persistent low mood, and the flatness that makes an ordinary day take everything you have. Care looks at what is driving it, not only the symptoms sitting on the surface.
Mental health during pregnancy, after birth, and through perimenopause. Hormonal change alters how mood and anxiety behave, and medication decisions in these years need a psychiatrist who knows the territory.
Accurate diagnosis first, then a medication plan built for stability over years, paired with therapy that helps you recognize early warning signs before an episode picks up speed.
Intrusive thoughts, compulsions, and the long reach of trauma. Trauma-focused and cognitive behavioral approaches, paced so the work stays manageable between sessions.
Evaluation for adult ADHD, and careful ongoing medication management. Doses are reviewed against how your weeks are actually going, with real attention to the side effects you are living with.

Meet Dr. Ibeh
You are probably weighing whether you can trust a stranger with things you have not said to anyone. That is a reasonable thing to weigh. Let me make the choice easier.
I am a board-certified psychiatrist. I studied at Wellesley, earned my MPH at Yale and my MD at Stony Brook, and trained in adult psychiatry at Northwell’s Zucker Hillside Hospital. I practice evidence-based medicine and keep current with the psychiatric literature. I am compassionate, knowledgeable, curious, and honest with my patients. Helping people get back to productive, meaningful lives is the part of this work I care about most.
How to start
A short phone conversation. You say what is going on and ask whatever you need to ask, fees included. If this is not the right fit, she will tell you plainly.
New patients complete a brief screening before the first full appointment. It covers the basics so the evaluation itself can be spent on you rather than on paperwork.
A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, 45 to 60 minutes. History, symptoms, medical background, what you have already tried and how it went. She will explain how she understands it and what she is recommending, in language you can follow.
Regular sessions combining psychotherapy and medication management with the same doctor. The plan changes as you do, based on how the weeks between appointments are actually going.
Dr. Ibeh is an empathic, personable and clinically skilled psychiatrist who offers both quality evaluations and psychopharmacological care as well as psychotherapy. It will be a pleasure to work together in the years to come!

The office submits reimbursement claims on your behalf and provides superbills, so you can use whatever out-of-network benefits your plan includes. Coverage varies by plan. Fees are published in full on the services page, so you can work out what this costs before you book anything.

Yes. Every session is telehealth, by phone or secure HIPAA-compliant video. There is no office to drive to and no waiting room. You need a private place to sit and a reliable connection. For most people this makes care easier to keep going, particularly when work or caregiving already fills the day.
Both, with the same doctor, often in the same session. Dr. Ibeh is trained in cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, interpersonal, mindfulness-based, solution-focused, and trauma-focused therapy, and works with couples as well as individuals. Some people come for therapy alone, some for medication alone, many for the combination. What you get depends on what will actually help.
New Jersey and New York. Dr. Ibeh is licensed in both. Because care is delivered by telehealth, you need to be physically located in New Jersey or New York at the time of your session. That is a licensing rule rather than a practice preference. Where you live the rest of the time does not matter.
